Riverpoint Academy is public high school in the Mead School District of Spokane WA that serves over 100 students.
Riverpoint Academy is an innovative STEM+, project-based, entrepreneurial, integrated learning space. Students immerse themselves in core courses that are interdisciplinary in nature. The projects themselves are student-led and teacher guided. They focus on 21st century skills and leadership, STEM literacy and nurturing the creative passion within each student. Students take on real-world challenges and, using a design process, work to develop and implement solutions. Professionals from the community work with students in order to create an authentic learning experience as they dive deeply into science, engineering, mathematics, the arts and humanities and entrepreneurship — all fueled by radical collaboration with peers, the use of powerful technology and a deeply caring and devoted staff.
Riverpoint’s vision for education is one that is focused on preparing students to enter a global economy that demands innovation, creativity, and intellectual agility of its citizens. Twenty-first Century Skills, Common Core Standards, and Washington State Standards are met as students dive deeply into the learning that occurs when solving real-world challenges.
