Idea School in Tucson Arizona is an independent K-8 school focused on student inquiry and social-emotional development. They develop critical thinkers, problem solvers, and productive, engaged citizens.
They are inspired by the work of SF Brightworks, the #StartEmpathy initiative, the Reggio Emilia philosophy, and the work of innovative educators and students everywhere! They believe all children are intrinsically motivated learners and constructors of knowledge, and enjoy being productive. All children can develop a deep sense of empathy and compassion for others. The IDEA School promotes these qualities and helps our students build upon them, for the benefit of themselves, their families, our community, and the world. They model community expectations and community-based solutions. They hold each other accountable and understand the natural consequences of their choices. They believe there are a number of ways to contribute to the community and to express your ideas and expertise.
