Situated on the outskirts of Dublin City, Our Lady Immaculate is a medium-sized junior school that currently serves a student body of 240 students. Recognised by the Department of Education as a DEIS Band 1 school, the school is considered to be tackling the highest level of social and economic disadvantage impeding education. OLI’s approach to tackling this reality has been to develop a strong bond with their local community through various programmes, such as community library lending, art and after-school classes, as well as a meditation space. Under Principal Murray’s leadership, the school has raised literacy and numeracy levels, as well as school attendance rates.
